Vectus

Vectus is a driverless rail taxi system. Tikab has performed gait dynamics analyses to find the optimal combination of vehicle and track. Vectus has a test facility in Uppsala that has been used for physical tests and also for calibrating computational models. Tikab has provided design support for the implementation of a Vectus system in Korea where the system is in operation.

Railway vehicles in motion cause vibrations and oscillations in the carriages due to uneven stiffness of the ground. In addition, the speed of the vehicle will affect the frequency of the disturbance, which may cause resonance in the system if it is not properly designed. These so-called walking dynamics are the basis for parts of the load substructure in the design and construction of railway vehicles.

Tikab has designed a number of freight wagons in service on the Swedish railway network and has also specified a number of repair measures for fatigue damage to railway vehicles, including the X2000.
