This is how the Swedish earthquake feels!

In Tikab's mission to realise Independent Cooling in Forsmark, we deal with earthquake issues on a daily basis.

The so-called Swedish earthquake, against which Swedish nuclear facilities must be dimensioned, was developed in an SKI project (now SSM) in the early 1990s. Without going into too much detail, this earthquake has a magnitude that recurs once every hundred thousand years, 10-5.

How does this feel? We measured the vertical acceleration on the dashboard of an employee's car on a business trip to Forsmark and analysed the registration. The response spectrum of the measured acceleration encompasses the vertical acceleration of the Swedish earthquake over the entire frequency range.
