Forsmark

Tikab has a long tradition of performing strength and structural calculations for the nuclear power industry. Historically, Tikab has carried out design work for both the construction and erection phases of Forsmark 3 and Oskarshamn 3, as well as dimensioning and designing pipe-break anchorages in Oskarshamn 1.

During the earthquake licensing of Forsmark 1 and 2 in the late 1990s, Tikab established a number of verifying analyses on piping systems which then formed the basis for the seismic safety analysis of the reactors. Since then, Tikab has carried out a large number of pipe and component analyses for Forsmark, and has also produced load bases for both earthquake and various so-called pool dynamic processes.

Following the events in Fukushima in 2011, Tikab assisted Forsmark with earthquake analyses in connection with the stress tests required by the authorities for all nuclear power plants in Europe. Tikab has also designed and drawn up manufacturing documents for equipment for handling core scrap for Forsmark 3.
